Watertown Middle School
Junior Solar Sprint Club
After School Club

Based on a national program, this after school club promotes engineering, science, and life skills for middle school students (who think they're just having fun building things!). The students are provided a standardized motor and solar panel/battery and are then free to design the fastest car they can assemble using a variety of parts that are available. Basic technologies such as wheels and gears, motors and electricity, and materials and tools are introduced in a "learn by doing" environment. The experience culminates with the area races, which are held at MIT.
