As the logical (inevitable??) follow on to the Elec-Trak electric tractor, I now have a new toy/project.....

Yup, that’s a ‘93 Ford Escort Wagon. Pretty uninteresting looking, except maybe for the fancy wheels.  But, open it up...

Its a 120VDC Battery-Electric Vehicle. Running on a 400 amp Curtis 1221C controller.  Was originally built for 20 of the 6v Trojan T105 batteries. Now running with 20 12v Optima Yellow Tops in pairs. On-board 120VAC Zivan K2 charger and Rudman Regs to manage the AGMs

Now comes the fun: the Optimas are 5 years old, so time for new batteries to restore the performance and range. Also going to play around with the battery management system, and upgrade the instrumentation from the simple expanded-scale voltmeter to an e-meter.
