Two 50 Watt photovoltaic panels charge a large 12 Volt deep-cycle lead acid battery (via a regulator). In turn, a 2 KW invertor provides semi-sinusodial 115 VAC power from the battery. This means the invertor can use power much faster than the panels recharge. However, in practice one person working alone spends much more time measuring, positioning, nailing, etc. than sawing or drilling, giving the battery time to "catch up".
